Principal's Message

Dear Roynon Families,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Roynon Elementary! I hope your summer was filled with fun, relaxation, and special moments with loved ones. As we head into the 2025–2026 school year, I want to celebrate the incredible potential our students showed last year. They continue to amaze us with their curiosity, determination, and growing confidence — they are true scholars in every sense of the word!

We are proud to uphold a strong tradition of academic excellence while embracing a whole-child approach that honors the unique strengths, talents, and identities of every student. Our passionate team of teachers and staff are dedicated to creating a well-rounded learning experience that supports both academic growth and social-emotional development — all while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

This year, we’re excited to enhance our college- and career-going atmosphere on campus. Each class has been assigned a college or military branch based on their teacher’s interest, and we’ll be introducing more opportunities for students to explore their dreams and engage in conversations about their future. We want students to begin seeing themselves as future graduates, professionals, and community leaders — and that starts with building curiosity and aspiration now. As part of this effort, we’ll continue our College Shirt Days every Friday. We encourage students to participate and show their class pride!

I’m also looking forward to all of the exciting and memorable activities we’ll enjoy throughout the year, thanks to the continued support of our fantastic PTA. From movie nights and school performances to spirit days and seasonal celebrations, these fun-filled events bring our community together and create lasting memories for our students and families.

Throughout the year, I hope to get to know each of you better. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or just to say hello. I value open communication and strong partnerships — together, we can ensure a joyful, supportive, and successful school year for every child.

Here’s to a year of discovery, growth, and great memories!

Sincerely,

April Leon, Ed.D.
