August 1, 2023

On behalf of the Roynon Elementary staff, I welcome you to Roynon Elementary and the 2023-2024 school year!  We are happy that you are a part of our school community. At Roynon, we are committed to our district’s goal of preparing every student to live their purpose through our core values of equity, mastery, and a focus on results. We acknowledge that education is a collaborative process that involves the entire community. Together, we can provide a strong academic foundation while providing opportunities for growth in all areas of development.

As I say every fall, each school year brings its own unique excitement.  For me, this is especially true this year. As you may know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall and was away from campus for over half the year as I was undergoing treatment.  I am happy to say that I am back full time and my surgeries and treatments were successful.  I look forward to a wonderful 2023-2024 school year, my 7th year as the proud Principal of Roynon.

Roynon is proud to be a Leader in Me school for the sixth year in a row.  Leader in Me is an outstanding social-emotional learning program which provides our school with the vision and language to lead the school in a way that addresses all areas of development; academic as well as social-emotional. As leaders, our students strive to be active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative will grow.  If you would like to learn more about our Leader in Me Program, we encourage you to attend the Leader in Me Family Night on October 4th, 2023.

Parent/School communication is very important for the success of your student.  Our main form of communication arrives to our families via ParentSquare.  You can enable emails and text messages via Parent Square. Every Monday, primary contacts will receive a link to a weekly video message with important information for the week, The Monday Must Knows.  I encourage you to watch it each week, as it is one of our primary forms of communication.   In addition, we encourage you to get involved with our Roynon PTA and/or Roynon Beautification.  Both of these organizations help to create the amazingly positive environment that we call Roynon!

I am confident that the 2023-2024 school year will be one filled with WIGs (Wildly Important Goals) for our students.  I invite you to play an active role in your child’s learning. I encourage you to proactively communicate with staff and allow us to work together to meet your child’s needs. Thank you in advance for all you do to support your child’s education.
